SHE may not be able to celebrate her real birthday for another three years, but leap day baby Delphi remains full of smiles.
The Formby tot was just one of three babies to be born at Liverpool Women’s Hospital on February 29 last year.
Proud parents Christina Constantinou and Michael Dempsey were thrilled with the arrival of their first child, saying that Delphi’s birth was made even more special by the leap year day arrival.
According to grandad Alan Dempsey, Delphi, who is just starting to learn to walk, will celebrate her false birthday on February 28.
He said: “We will have a little party for her on the 28th.
“She is an absolutely gorgeous baby and she never stops smiling.”
Alan told us that the name Delphi is Greek – the home country of mum Christina’s side of the family.
It was the name of an ancient town near Mount Parnassus in central Greece which was said to be the site of the most famous oracle of Greek god Apollo.
Delphi, who’s middle name is Catrin, will be able to celebrate her first real birthday in 2016.
Alan added: “Delphi will only have a proper birthday once every four years so when it comes around we will definitely be making a big fuss!”
