CCTV: 'Nightmare' attack on Dr Srinivas Rao Dharmana outside his Liverpool surgery
A LIVERPOOL doctor was stabbed and run over outside his surgery in a terrifying robbery by a masked gang of five.
Dr Srinivas Rao Dharmana was closing up the surgery on Queens Drive, Walton, for the day when he was set upon by the gang who demanded his Rolex watch and car keys.
As the GP struggled with the gang he was stabbed twice, though his thick coat saved him from injury.
One of the robbers then hit Dr Dharmana before the gang drove his black Audi TT at him.
He was thrown on to the bonnet as he tried to stop them getting away just after 7pm on Wednesday.
But today the medic said he refused to let the “nightmare” stop him doing his job.
Dr Dharmana, 42, said: “It has been a nightmare. I just came out of the surgery after the last patients had left and they were waiting.
“They grabbed me and asked for the watch, and I was trying to stop them but was stabbed twice.
“It was lucky my coat was thick enough to stop it going through, but then they struck me in the face and were away.
“When they drove at me it was terrifying and I was completely shocked by the whole thing.”
