A MERSEYSIDE drugs kingpin jailed over a “truly massive” smuggling conspiracy had his sentence challenge turned down by top judges.
Sean Christopher Page, of Cable Street, Formby, was given eight years and three months at Liverpool Crown Court in May last year after admitting conspiracy to supply cannabis and amphetamines.
Lord Justice Elias, sitting in London’s Appeal Court with Mr Justice Field and Judge Paul Batty QC, said Page was a key player in a plot to import drugs worth over £7m to the UK from Morocco and Spain.
Page, 40, challenged his sentence with claims that it was too harsh and over-estimated his role.
But Lord Justice Elias said there was “no merit” in the sentence challenge, observing “he was at the top end of the management structure”.
