SEFTON Council will meet tonight to discuss a raft of cuts as the cash-strapped authority looks to plug a £43.7m budget black hole.
You can follow live updates from the meeting in our live blog below, which starts at 6pm.
Burials and cremations will become the most expensive in the country and volunteers will be asked to take over street cleaning if
politicians back the £16m cuts package set to be discussed at Southport Town Hall.
Sports teams will also be kicked off council-run pitches unless they agree to pay the full costs of grounds maintenance and utilities if
the proposals are passed
Sefton Council has already culled services to meet £64m of cuts targets in the previous two years and at least 60 jobs will be put in
jeopardy should tonight's proposals be given the green light.
Log on at 6pm to follow updates and have your say on the plans, as they are decided.
