MORE than 30 doctors, nurses and reception staff from Ainsdale Medical Centre have raised thousands of pounds in memory of a loved colleague.
They have been collecting donations and also took part in a 5k run in Crosby in tribute to Lyn Brighton, who died last year after a short stay in The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust.
Lyn, from Ainsdale, worked as a receptionist for more than 20 years and was well known to families in the local area.
Receptionist Joanne Atherton said: “We are staggered by the support we have had for our fundraising in memory of Lyn and we would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who has supported us and sponsored us.”
So far, a fund in memory of Lyn has raised more than £3,000.
“Anybody who would like to make a donation, can still do so via our website or call into the surgery where we have a Walton Neuro Fund collection box,” said Joanne.
Donations can be made online at: uk.virginmoneygiving.com/brightonbelles.
The money will go to the Walton Neuro Fund which supports new facilities for patients undergoing neurology, neurosurgery, pain and rehabilitation services.
Lyn leaves a husband, Alan; and daughters Louise and Joanne, who live in Formby.
