Anne Williams will meet Hillsborough Independent Panel

THE mother of Hillsborough victim Kevin Williams is to meet the panel that will make public key secret documents relating to the 1989 tragedy.

Formby-born Anne Williams will link up with the seven members of the Hillsborough Independent Panel at 2pm tomorrow (Thursday) at Liverpool city centre’s Cunard building.

The aim of the meeting will be to find out exactly what the panel’s role is.

It will include Liverpool-born broadcaster Peter Sissons.

Anne said: “We will discover what the panel’s remit is and they want to get to know us.

“I will be taking my solicitor with me.

“I have no qualms with the panel and I’m glad there are medical people on it because Kevin did not die from what they said.

“There is a room in Sheffield and it’s full of thousands of documents about the disaster.

“They have brought in an archivist to deal with them. We want to see them all.”

Anne, now of Chester, has spent two decades campaigning for a new inquest into her 15-year-old son’s death.
