Sponsor steps in to save Sefton’s Got Talent

THE date of the Sefton’s Got Talent final has been put back after a sponsor came forward to save the event.

It will take place at Plaza Community Cinema but will be held on Sunday, February 21, two weeks later than planned.

This is for a new stage to be set up to accommodate the dance groups taking part.

The event could have been cancelled because the new stage costs £1,000.

However a sponsor, Merseysound Productions Staging Ltd, has come forward and saved the event.

Peter McCormack, one of the organisers, said: “Faced with this enormous bill we felt we had a mountain to climb in securing funding for the kind of staging that would be needed but up stepped Brian McElroy, general manager, from Merseysound Productions and Staging Ltd, who right from the outset was enthusiastic and keen to help us get our show back on track.

“Both Brian and MSP have been fantastic, and without the technical assistance advice and practical help they were able to provide the whole final would have been in jeopardy.”
