Crosby starlets invited to Sefton’s Got Talent launch

YOUNG stars from Formby are being called to the stage for this year’s Sefton’s Got Talent contest.

The competition is running for the second time following the huge success of last year’s event.

There will be two categories, one for under 12s and the other for 12 to 18-year-olds.

Auditions are being held at Marine Football Club in College Road, Crosby, on Sunday, December 6 from 11am to 4pm.

It has been organised by Peter McCormack from Marine FC in conjunction with Plaza Community Cinema.

To take part youngsters just have to turn up accompanied to the auditions on December 6 and fill out an application form on the day.

Youngsters can compete with any talent, whether it is singing, dancing or a comedy act.

Shortlisted finalists will be announced on Thursday, December 17.

They will go forward to the grand final, which will take place at Plaza Community Cinema in Crosby Road North on Sunday, February 7.

At the final youngsters will perform in front of an audience in a bid to win in the sections.

The overall winners will receive an award. All finalists will receive a certificate.

Last year’s final, which saw sisters Paris and Portia Graham-Jones winning the under 18s section, attracted 600 people.

Family and friends armed themselves with banners and T-shirts to watch the finalists perform at the cinema.

Peter said: “We are looking for local youngsters to prove they can do even better. There will be a completely new winner for Sefton’s Got Talent 2.

“It was well attended and what a great event showcasing local people at their best.

“You just see how wonderful people are and it’s great to get them involved”.
