Denise Dutton, chairman of Forrmby Parish Council, said: “The improvements in the village were done to try and encourage more people to come into the village to boost the local businesses.
“We have done a lot of work to the memorial gardens and I think that reflects in the fact that you see people virtually every day sitting and having their lunch. People have made comments and have said how lovely it is now. We are getting there.
“I do think it has made a tremendous difference.”
Parish Councillor Mike Coles announced the work will be completed a year early and that the Parish Council will be working on further plans for the village.
He said: “We will complete the work a year earlier as the Parish Council felt it should use our resources to complete it early and then begin to gather public response that will help to decide how to develop the work in the future.
“The appearance of the Village Centre is vital for the residents, visitors and the business community.”
