Claire House Children’s Hospice boosted by very fashionable occasion in Formby
FORMBY’S latest childrenswear shop hosted a well-attended fundraiser for Claire House Children’s Hospice on its launch night last week.
Blu Kangaroo, which brings a European flavour to fit 0 to 10 year-olds, is the first retail venture for former flight attendant Christine Campbell.
The shop in The Gallery on Halsall Lane was packed with guests who raised £230 for charity as they shopped on Thursday evening.
Christine said: “It went really well.
“I was nervous because this is the first time I’ve sold anything apart from on a plane, and they couldn’t get away from me then!
“It’s a massive learning curve, but I’m enjoying every minute of it.
“The clothes are mostly Spanish, Italian, French and Dutch – next summer I have got some amazing labels coming, I’m really excited about it.”
Talking about Claire House, she added: “I’m lucky to have two healthy children, Isobel who’s five and Georja, who’s three. I’m hoping to build a good relationship with Claire House by supporting them however we can at the shop.”
