SEFTON Chamber of Commerce and Industry has a new chairman ready to take the helm.
Following the Annual General Meeting of Sefton Chamber of Commerce and Industry on June 30, the current chairman, Tim Bownes from Mersey Docks and Harbour Company, stood down after his two-year term.
The Chamber has seen significant growth in the last two years in new products and services in a vibrant and exciting time, supporting businesses and helping to generate more local supply within the borough.
The Board of Directors is currently starting a review of the governance of the organisation to help strengthen the next phase of expansion.
It was decided that Mr Ron Lofthouse OBE will take on the role as Interim Chairman until the next Extraordinary General Meeting.
Mr Lofthouse said: “It is a real pleasure to take on the role again in what is a very exciting time.
“I would like to thank our Past Chairman, Tim Bownes, for his excellent contribution to the organisation during the last two years.
“The highest period of new membership has taken place since January this year with 70 new members joining Sefton Chamber of Commerce.”
