Southport FC nearly sprung a surprise in holding Formby RBL to a single point victory in going down 37 - 36, all of the players making useful scores but none in double figures. Led by Ian Wainwright 15 and Alan Wright 11, last placed London Boys made up some ground with a welcome 38 - 32 defeat of St Patrick's A, Ann Page scoring a fine 21 for the visitors. "Best of the rest" Devonshire Club had a comfortable 46 - 24 victory over Quads, John Richards 18 and Ian Jackson 14 scoring well and Richard Farbon 10 leading for the visitors. Led by Paddy Kirk 11, St Jeromes moved to within 1 point of Sands with a 33 - 21 win at St Patricks.
