TOUR ace Henrick Stenson made a special trip to see PGA coach and putting expert Phil Kenyon at his new headquarters at Formby Hall Golf Resort.
The six-time European Tour and two-time PGA Tour winner was visiting the Harold Swash Putting School which has relocated to the Southport venue.
Stenson also took advantage of the facilities at Formby's PGA Golf Academy where under the expert eye of head professional Mark Williams and the Swede's coach Mike Walker, he used force-plate and Trackman to measure ball flight and balance dynamics at the same time.
While there Stenson also enjoyed a flash back in time when he relived his Ryder Cup exploits of 2006 at The K Club.
"When Henrik arrived and called into the academy to introduce himself we were showing the official film of the 2006 Ryder Cup in the Golf Shop," said Williams.
"It obviously still means a lot to him because he stood there glued to the matches and commentated on the golf and gave us an interesting insight, it clearly still holds very fond memories for him."
Since opening in 2008, the PGA Golf Academy has welcomed and entertained golfers from around the world and even had the honour of staging a clinic hosted by the most successful golfer of all time - Jack Nicklaus.
As its reputation and awareness continues to blossom, the resort is attracting further interest from current high profile players with several players already attached to the club including Southport-based European Tour player Lee Slattery and English Amateur Champion and Walker Cup player, Tommy Fleetwood.
In addition to visits from the likes of Stenson and Chris Woods, the PGA Golf Academy has also established itself as favourite for Premier League footballers.
New Liverpool signing Joe Cole is a regular visitor and is proving as adept on the resort's challenging par three course as he is on the pitch at Anfield.
"Joe has had some lessons and pops across for a game when he has time to relax," added Williams.
