Congleton facts
Managed by Anthony Buckle, Congleton’s Booth Street ground capacity is 5,000.
Formed in 1901, the club’s record attendance was more than 7,000 for a Cheshire County match against Macclesfield Town in season 1953-54.
The club’s record transfer fee is £5,000 which Leeds United paid to take Des Frost.
Congleton made it to the first round of the FA Cup in season 89-90, only to lose 2-0 at neighbours Crewe Alexandra.
Only two players have made 600 or more appearances for the club - Raymond Clack and Graham Harrison.
