FORMBY Junior Sports Club Under 9s Blacks won 8-3 against Formby Athletic. Oscar Thompson scored seven goals in a very good team performance. Excellent inter play from Tom Elder and Jack Denniss created many goal scoring opportunities for the inform striker. His best goal came from a spectacular eighteen yard volley. The Under 9s made it back to back victories with a hard fought 5-3 win over Crosby Stuart.
FJSC Under 10s Blacks have also produced consecutive wins. Two second half goals from Josh Wilson gave the 10s a 2-1 victory over Southport Trinity Whites. Goalkeeper Zak Eastwood made some fine saves. Whilst in the local derby against Redgate Rovers Green a goal each from George Treble and Seb Wilson gave the Blacks a 2-0 win.
FJSC Under 10s Whites defeated Formby FC. Callum McLeod, Fintan Meehan, Oliver Shaw, Ben Rich and Bryn Macy were all on the scoresheet.
Norwegian team Skeid visited Merseyside and renewed their friendship with FJSC Under 15s playing two matches. The visitors won the closely contested fixtures which were thoroughly enjoyed by both the two teams and parents.
In the Inter Club Section the Year 11-13 match produced sixteen goals. The Whites (Sam Cropper seven, Ben Cropper, Alex Robinson, Chris Powell and Jack Gallagher) won 11-5 in the match with the Blues (Eddie Hatton and Jake Williams two each and Declan Blackwell).
Twenty-six goals were scored in the Year 6/7 game between Formby North End and Pinewood Athletic. North End won 13-10. There were four hat tricks scored by Charlie Robinson and Matthew Fraser of Pinewood and by North End’s Michael Johnson and Joseph Taylor.
In the Girls’ Section there wins for the Dolphins and the Sharks. Amongst the goals were Molly O’Brien, Freya Walsh, Nina Macy, Amelia Gray, Abigail Hobbs,
Lily Hall, Anna Dillon O’Neil, Charlotte Armstrong, Anna Rutherford , Ellie Brewer and Zoe Westcott.
The Reds won 9-8 against the Blacks and in the other Year 5 game there was a high scoring 7-7 draw.
