Your Gallery: Lynn Fraser

ALTHOUGH I was born in South Liverpool, I have lived in Sefton for the past 25 years, currently living in Formby.

I have always been interested in drawing and painting but work-life took over.

I went to night school to reawaken my desire to draw. Since leaving work in a buying office fashion department several years ago I was able to pursue my passion. I have sold work in the UK and abroad and exhibited in galleries in the north west of England as well as showcasing my work on my own and other websites.

I have exhibited in the Sefton Open exhibition at the Atkinson Gallery. I have also won first prize in a competition that the Portland Hall Spa in Southport held, called Bodyworks.

As well as being involved in mixed shows, I have been fortunate to have three solo exhibitions.

Having been involved in fashion for many years, a lot of my inspiration comes from the fashion world and photography. I love to paint and draw figurative work. I can be inspired to paint from reading a book, an article in the paper or folk tales.

I paint in acrylic on canvas and also take commissions for pencil-drawn artwork of people and animals.

My artwork is eclectic, varying from black and white icons, folk-art, to the Harajuku girls of Japan.
